About Jamie Ford

A specialist in human resource development, Jamie Ford works to unlock the potential of every organisation's most valuable asset, its people.

Jamie leads the University of Auckland's " Mental Toughness" short course at the Business School. This course is in the top five of all short courses.

He also leads courses on " Resilient Leadership"and "MentalToughness for Leaders" for the Australian Institute of Management.

He has worked in the area of business and personal development for more than 20 years and has a passion for the "people" side of business.

Jamie has worked as a training, safety, and human resource manager across a broad range of industries.



Through his interest in EQ, he has trained in the United States with Q>Metrics, recognised leaders in the application of emotional intelligence to business performance. He has also trained with Essi Systems, a leading international provider of Stress Mastery programmes.

With a strong interest in the work of Dr Martin Seligman, Jamie is a charter associate member of the International Positive Psychology Association and a founding member of the New Zealand Association of Positive Psychology.

For his coaching and mentoring work, he engages Dr Judith McMorland as a professional supervisor.

Jamie is a father of three adult daughters, and is the proud grandfather of two granddaughters and two grandsons. His personal interests include playing trombone in competitive brass bands (he has seven national New Zealand and Australian "Champion of Champions" Brass Band Titles). For several years he competed in outrigger canoe racing (waka ama) and has a collection of gold, silver, and bronze medals for National Sprint Championship successes.

He is a member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
