Seligman Attributional Style Questionnaire
The SASQ (also known as the ASQ) is one of the most validated diagnostic tools in the world.
Designed by Professor Martin Seligman, the SASQ test uncovers a person's explanatory style (attitude) — how they explain significant events in their life.
More than 1000 studies over more than 40 years have proved that an optimistic explanatory, or attributional, style brings success. Pessimists tend to see success as a fluke and adversity as an insurmountable obstacle and so are more likely to give up and less likely to succeed.
By using an individual's SASQ responses employers can assess how suitable they are for a role and highlight how they might benefit from personal development and coaching.
